Message from the CEO

Last week, we proudly celebrated National Palliative Care Week - an important time to recognise the incredible dedication, compassion, and expertise of our palliative care workforce across Victoria. We hope you all enjoyed the morning tea celebration hampers shared across the organisations.

A heartfelt thank you to the teams who sent in photos of your celebrations - it’s wonderful to see the spirit and connection that exists across our services. (And if you haven’t shared your photos yet, there’s still time!)

This year’s theme, “What’s your plan?”, offered us a valuable opportunity to open conversations with our communities about the importance of end-of-life planning. As Victorians, we are fortunate to have choices about how and where we receive care in the future - something we should never take for granted.

As we look ahead, we now shift focus to planning for the upcoming Victorian election (November 2026). This is a vital time for us to advocate for the future of palliative care. I encourage you to share your thoughts on our future priorities - whether in upcoming face-to-face meetings or via our election feedback page.

With kindest regards,
Violet Platt
Chief Executive Officer
